Images from 35 mm and digital camera monitoring sites with over five (5) years of data have been selected to capture a range or "spectrum" of historical visibility, seasonal conditions, and other significant events. Over seventy (70) US Forest Service photographic monitoring sites are represented in this Historical Gallery. All posted materials and images have also been archived on site-specific CD-ROMs, available from the FS Air Program.
Features for each historical gallery include:
A written site
history and graphic representation of the monitoring
site and operational period.
Image spectrums consisting of a series of good
to poor regional haze visibility conditions.
Images of pristine, scenic, or meteorological
interest.
Selected representations of layered haze, regional
haze, or pollution episodes of significant importance.
